About the Recipe
If you are putting on a Chinese meal, this sweet and sour sauce is a must. It is delightfully flavorsome and a breeze to make. Although it is typically served with chicken balls, it also goes very well with a variety of other foods, like chicken fingers, battered shrimp and even on rice.

Ingredients
2 cups of cold water
½ cup of sugar
¼ cup of Heinz ketchup
1 tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoon of sweet pickle vinegar
1 tablespoon of white vinegar
3 tablespoons of corn starch
36-40 drops of yellow food coloring
5-7 drops of red food coloring
3-4 sliced of sweet pickles
Preparation
In a saucepot, combine all ingredients and mix well.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat to low and continue cooking for 7 minutes, stirring very frequently.

Add a few slices of sweet pickles and serve.
For an extra tangy sauce, add a bit more lemon juice or vinegar to your taste.

Note: If the sauce sits on a hot burner for an extended period of time, it may become a bit thin. This is easily remedied by bringing the sauce to a boil and incorporating a bit more corn starch and water mix.
