About the Recipe
This is another one of my favorite seasoning blends. Although this it bears similarities with my BBQ seasoning, it does have a distinctive Italian flavor.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons of tomato powder
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of dried basil
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon of MSG
½ teaspoon of celery seeds
½ teaspoon of carrot powder
¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon of onion powder
¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon of salt
Preparation
Simply mix the ingredients in the indicated proportions. You can tweak the quantities to suit your taste.
Mixing everything together doesn’t take long, if you can find all the ingredients in your local stores. This recipe calls for powdered tomatoes and carrots. Making the powdered vegetables is easy enough, but it will require several hours of drying time.
Carrot Powder
Fully cook the carrots (boil).
Drain and chop into small pieces or mash.
Oven dry at 175 °f on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. It will take several hours for the carrots to dry completely.
Once dried, mill in a food processor and, if necessary, finish with a mortar and pestle.

Tomato Powder
Follow the same process using tomato sauce or tomato paste, no precooking required
