About the Recipe
After several iterations and experiments with crab melt variations, this version was born. These tasty treats can be served as appetizers or accompanied with a salad or fries for a satisfying lunch. Either way, you and your guests will love the medley of flavors in this low effort recipe.

Ingredients
240 grams of chunk crabmeat
100 grams of smoked gouda (or other cheese of your choice)
80 grams of ham, diced into pea sized pieces
3 English muffins
1 tomato, diced
1 avocado, sliced in ¼ inch thick pieces
1 green onion
â…“ red bell pepper (70 grams), diced into pea sized pieces
7 teaspoons of butter
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
1 ½ teaspoons of minced garlic
1 teaspoon of lime juice
¼ teaspoon of dried thyme
Dash of paprika
Dash of salt and ground black pepper
Preparation
Preparation
Prep all your vegetables and your ham ahead of time. This is referred to as a "mise en place".

Put 1 teaspoon of butter and one teaspoon of minced garlic in a medium sized non-stick saucepan and set the temperature to medium-high.
Once the butter has melted, add:
80 grams of ham, diced into pea sized pieces
1 tomato, diced
â…“ red bell pepper (70 grams), diced into pea sized pieces
¼ teaspoon of dried thyme
Dash of salt and ground black pepper
Sautee until the juice from the tomato has boiled away (approximately 9 minutes)
Remove from heat and add 1 green onion, chopped into rings and give it a stir.
Crab Preparation
Drain the crab meat well, place it in a bowl and add the following:
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
1 teaspoon of lime juice
Dash of ground black pepper and paprika
Mix well.

Muffin Preparation
Cut the English muffins in half and butter them (about 1 teaspoon of butter per half muffin).
Set them on a cookie sheet or flat baking pan.
Put a few bits of minced garlic on each slice and spread it around.

Divide the crab mixture evenly between the muffins.
Divide the vegetable and ham mix evenly between the muffins.

Divide the avocado slices evenly between the muffins.

Cover the muffins with your choice of cheese.

Preheat the oven to 350Ëš F (176Ëš C), convection roast.
Roast the muffins on middle rack for 10 minutes then set the oven to broil. Broil only long enough to lightly brown the cheese.
Serve immediately.
